Georgia Grace

Co-Founder & Sex Educator at Normal

Georgia is a queer cis woman and an expert in somatic sexology, embodied counselling and trauma informed approaches, Georgia supports not only individuals but couples and groups to become more aware of their bodies, sex and sexuality. You might know her for her popular @gspot._ account on Instagram, and for leading the creation of Normal's free sex education resources.

Georgia is also a co-founder at Normal, where she designs educational courses and products, and helps people explore sexuality and sex toys with more confidence and less shame.

What is somatic sexology?

Somatic sexology is the integration of somatics (focusing awareness through the body) with sexology (the scientific study of human sexuality). In session, clients can expect to work with "top down" approaches, including classic talk based processes, as well as somatic "bottom up" approaches drawing on insights from neuroscience, somatic learning theory, embodiment and body awareness.

Top-down therapy often starts with how we are thinking, while bottom-up therapy often starts with what we are feeling in our bodies. When working with sex, pleasure, relationships and trauma, Georgia addresses what's going on in both the mind and the body.

Supervision

Georgia receives a minimum of three hours of supervision each month across individual, group and peer supervision. Her supervision focuses on somatic theory, trauma-informed approaches and embodied therapy, as well as the modalities of psychology, sexology and counselling.

Facilitator, Introductory Certificate in Embodied Counselling

Since 2023, Georgia has facilitated the Introductory Certificate in Embodied Counselling. The training is for therapists, psychologists, practitioners and counsellors looking to upskill in somatic and body based therapeutic approaches, and for those considering a career change who want a useful first step.

Participants develop skills in embodiment coaching and embodied counselling, along with the supporting knowledge needed for effective practice. The course is taught somatically and uses embodied exercises, coaching, tutorials, research projects, journaling, practice counselling sessions, and reflection and feedback, building the skills to work effectively with the emotional and psychological content clients bring to sessions and classes.

Author, The Modern Guide to Sex

In 2024 Georgia published her bestselling book, The Modern Guide to Sex, a handbook for full-body pleasure, sexual confidence and fulfilling relationships. Featuring full-colour illustrations of anatomy and techniques alongside practical, therapeutic support on navigating communication, common sexual concerns and exploration, the book is about making sex pleasurable, inclusive and shame-free.

How Georgia reviews Normal's content

Georgia reviews, cross-checks and fact-checks all content before it is published, to ensure accuracy and sensitivity. Language, claims and product information are checked against current research and best practice, and anything ambiguous or unsupported is sent back to the writer for revision.

When content touches on clinical topics such as trauma, vaginismus or sexual dysfunction, Georgia reviews it directly to ensure it reflects safe, evidence-informed guidance rather than oversimplified advice. This process keeps Normal's content inclusive, shame-free and grounded in real expertise.
